Dulce Olivia Ramirez Bravo

Introduction to Her Story

Dulce Olivia began her journey in the textile world at 15, in a workshop in her neighborhood of Xochimilco, Oaxaca. Since then, weaving has become her passion and connection to her roots. This craft has taught her the value of dedication, patience, and the art of turning threads into stories.

Her First Loom: A Dream Come True

Over time and with great effort, Dulce Olivia built her first loom, marking an important milestone in her life. For her, constructing it was more than just a personal achievement; it symbolized her independence and creativity. Since then, she has perfected her techniques and created her designs, each inspired by the cultural richness of Oaxaca and her desire to innovate.

The Workshop at Home: A Shared Dream

Today, Dulce Olivia and her family weave their pieces from their home, where every thread and every design is a family project full of love. Each week, they take their textiles to the plaza in Tlacolula, sharing their creations with the community and showcasing the quality and beauty of their artisanal work.

Dreams for the Future

Dulce Olivia dreams of seeing her pieces travel beyond Tlacolula, so people in other places can appreciate and value the effort and dedication in each of her weavings. Her wish is that her creations serve as a window into the traditions and culture of Oaxaca, allowing her art to reach all who seek authenticity and beauty in every detail.
