Traditional Handmade Oaxacan Dog

This lovely artisanal dog is made with cotton yarn, using a traditional technique on a treadle loom. Each piece is meticulously created by Maricarmen, from the initial sketch to the stuffing and final confection, ensuring a unique and high-quality piece.
This design represents the dog, the eternal companion of humans throughout history and a symbol of friendship and nobility. Part of our endemic collection, it is inspired by the Xoloitzcuintli, a breed native to Mexico with a deep historical and biological value. In Mexican indigenous cultures, the dog is the companion of the rain god (Tlaloc, Cozijo, Chac), who brings rain and makes the corn harvest possible.
